The Brief
The music video I will be making is for the song ‘Angst boy blues’ by Jack Palmer. I think the genre of this song is acoustic blues, this means would have to be slightly depressing.
I couldn’t get the lyrics but after listening to it a couple of times I have the chorus. The chorus of the song is ‘There’s something wrong. There’s nothing wrong, stop asking’. So if I am going to follow the lyrics with the narrative of my video I could have a depressed man with a lot of people asking him what is wrong, but he wouldn’t want to talk about it and they are just depressing him more, it could possibly be set at a bar and he is on his own ‘drowning his sorrows’.

Analysis of Snow Patrol - Chocolate
When you first listen to the lyrics of the song it is quite unclear what it is he is trying to say, but after watching it again you can see it is about a man coming to a realisation on his life and relationship. The video however, and first you think it is about the end of the world but if you look a little deeper it is showing that people waste there time not taking chances. There are many shots of the band standing still and everything is happening behind them which is showing the way that life should be lived, relaxed.
The opening shot is of a hourglass with people rushing around in the background, this shows the end of the world but also it is a metaphor for life, how time is running out and people are rushing around trying to get everything done before it is too late. They also carry this on with lots of shots of clocks and timers.
The next shot is of a lot of missing posters on a wall with 'the end is nigh!' spay painted over them. This follows the end of the world plot to the video but also signifies that people spend there life looking for love when they should enjoy there life and let love find them.
There is a man trying to hold on to his money while it is blowing in the wind, this signifies that some people revolve there life around earning/saving money.
The lead singer picks up a lady bug from the floor while everybody is rushing around, a lady bug is a signifier for calm and peaceful showing he is taking it easy while everybody else is rushing around. As he is picking up the lady bug the lyrics are 'I can make my first steps, as a child of 25' showing he should of had this realisation along time ago.
There is a man dressed as a doctor wandering around, showing that people spend too much time with there occupation or it could show that people spend too much time worrying about illnesses.
There are 3 older men sat on the floor eating lots of food and crying, this represents the greedy old men who have more than they need but leave them self with nobody to love and no friends.
There are a man and a woman rolling around in the backseat of a car having sex, this signifies that people think the point to live is reproduction.
The singer is led down and a bottle of beer is dropped on the floor next to him and it smashes, signifying that people waste there life with alcohol, the bottle smashes showing they are drinking themselves to an early grave.
There is a woman sat down holding on to her baby tight signifying some people are over protective to there children
There is a man with a bible preaching about religion, this signifies that some people dedicate there life to religion when they are not guaranteed to be right, you're never gonna find out until the end so why waste time on it.
Towards the end of the video the hourglass stops, everybody pauses, the music pauses and the singer turns the hourglass over again but everybody is still rushing around, this signifies that we have a lot more time then we realise but still nobody has this epiphany.
Throughout the video there is a lot of shots of the band, making it easier to find over songs of there's if the people watching enjoyed this song.
This video explores many different ways people live there life whilst suggesting people should take it easy and live life to the full.
